There aren't enough words to express how important Mrs. Charlene is to our family. She has cared for our Matthew as one of her own for almost four years. He loves her and Mr. Jimmy so much; as we all do. She made every day special- morning gingersnaps with Mr. Jimmy, dancing to the jukebox, baking holiday cookies, playing on the patio, and even shaking hands was memorable at Mrs. Charlene's. That was one of the first things she taught him. I can still hear her asking, "How do, Matthew?" We never felt as if we were dropping him off at a babysitter's house. We were simply taking him to visit his other grandparents. Over the years, she became a dear friend and a part of our family. We will miss her very, very much. She was a remarkably special woman and I thank you all for sharing her with so many other families, especially ours. We will cherish our memories with her always.

Love,
Matthew, Chris and Kimberly Gore, and Lorraine Huffman

What can I say, Ms. Charlene was so caring, loving and full of life. You were everything we needed in a caregiver. You loved our children as your own and they loved you. I can't get over that we will never greet you at your front door again, or that Emersyn will never get "a great big hug" from you. Every time I check the mail, I will think of you (her and Emersyn loved to go get the mail together) or anytime I see a ginger snap (they had ginger snaps and "coffee" every morning together). My kids loved you so much. Every time we would pull into your drive way Emersyn would say "We're here....I so excited!" and she would walk to your front door. She never once cried when I left her with you, because she was loved and cared for as if it were her own family. This doesn't seem real and I feel like I am in the middle of a bad nightmare. We love you and Mr. Jimmy so much. You guys are family. I am so thankful that I let Emersyn back out of the car on Tuesday to give you one more "great big hug" because who knew that would be her last hug from you. My kids were the last kids you ever held and cared for and I will cherish that for a lifetime. You will be missed every single day, Charlene. We love you! RIP πŸ’”πŸ˜πŸ™πŸΌ

I cannot say enough what a wonderful family you are or express how I love each one of you. My heart is with you all.

I am so sorry for the loss of you Aunt Charlene. I know your faith and your lifetime of actions has you walking with the Angels as I write this. Your warmth and open heart was there for me as a child and I have such fond memories. From the lifesaver books with the mini Christmas stockings, watching you cook dinner for us and loving all BUT the beets, 😊to getting fussed at for us kids running through the house or for tattling. These memories will always be present. Thank you!

You will be missed Aunt Charlene but you will continue your journey as an Angel and will still keep watch over your family as always.

All my love to you Uncle Jimmy, Jamie, Jennifer and family!!!

I will never forget the warm rice crispy treats you'd make every time I'd come over and you and Jennifer would try to teach me to play piano. I still remember a little bit. You were so warm and kind and always thoughtful of others. You will be so dearly missed Aunt Charlene. I Love you
