It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Charles Russell Ford Ill on April 26, 2025, at the age of 47. A lifelong resident of Charleston, South Carolina, Russell was born on February 17, 1978, to Charles Russell Ford, Jr. of Hanahan, SC, and Kay Davenport Barr of Manning, SC.
Russell was a kind-hearted soul who dedicated his life to caring for others. He had a natural gift for connecting with people and cherished every opportunity to make new friends. His warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Friends and family were always at the center of Russell's world. He was especially devoted to his mother, and he was fortunate to be loved and supported by two father figures: Charles R. Ford, Jr. and Robert J. Barr—both of whom played significant roles in his life. His sister, no matter the distance, was a constant source of love and support, and the bond they shared was unbreakable.
Professionally, Russell was a driven and accomplished individual. He worked for AT&T for many years, where he was recognized as a top performer and sales leader. He approached his work with the same passion and dedication that he brought to his personal life.
Russell found joy in the simple things—spending time with family and friends, and especially being at home with his beloved dog, Olive. His love for animals was evident, but Olive held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his mother, Kay D. Barr; his father, Charles R. Ford, Jr; and his sisters, Pam Ford and Marissa Gilstrap.
Russell's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The family will have a memorial service only, Saturday, June 14, 2025 from noon until 1 PM at Carolina Memorial Park Chapel, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC
29406.
