With great sorrow, we regret to inform you that our loving Dad, Charles W. Freeman, of Summerville, went to be with his loving Savior on October 20, 2014. How fortunate we are that God allowed our Dad to be on this Earth for 96 years. He was faithful to his Lord, his family, his friends and his country. He voluntarily served in the US Army during WWII and received an honorable discharge. He retired as the best sheet metal mechanic and roofer in the tri-county area. He was a faithful member of Ferndale Baptist Church for 48 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing rummy with his family and friends. This is one of the saddest days of our lives, but only for a short time, because we know we will see him again! We love you Daddy. He was born on June 15, 1918 in Brewington, SC to Johnson E. Freeman and Elizabeth Cook Freeman. He is survived by three daughters, Christine Hensley (Lee) of Sanford, NC, Barbara Seagraves (Clyde) of Moncks Corner, and Gloria Holcombe (Ronnie) of Jedburg. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Freeman, and two daughters, Faye Freeman and Lois Drake. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in Carolina Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow immediately after the service.
