Christine Pritchard, age 92, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Agape Hospice in Summerville SC. Christine (Chris as many people called her) was born in Sparta TN on January 1, 1933, to the late Luther and Lennie Stewart.
Christine had one sister, the late Gena Marie Griffin. Christine's life was a testament to the devotion of her family. She was a daughter, sister, mother, granny, and friend. Christine was married to her sweetheart the late James Harold Pritchard at the age of 18.
In her early years as a mother, she made her biggest impact on her children by making every holiday and birthday a special occasion with decorations and food. Even when they did not have much money to spend or friends nearby, Christine made sure her children felt loved and celebrated, especially on birthdays. Her husband James was in the Navy and Air Force, and as a result they lived in several different cities throughout their marriage. Immediately after marrying, they lived in Detroit, MI. They then moved to Greenville SC, Savannah GA, and eventually settled in Goose Creek SC, where James retired from the Air Force. Christine had an immense love for gardening and plants - which she took up from her Mom who was known to have large gardens. Some of her favorites were the tulip tree in the front yard, the crepe myrtles and azaleas. Later in life she developed a love for crocheting, shopping, playing Canasta and board games, coloring, getting her hair done, and wearing silly glasses everywhere including doctor appointments. Christine had an impeccable sense of humor and quick wit. She loved joking around with anyone, which instantly endeared her to many. Christine was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and was dedicated to her faith in God and Jesus. She loved cooking for others, crocheting hundreds of gifts for people and was a constant support to her entire family. Every holiday was treated as a special event: from the elaborate dishes she would make to the decorations that adorned every inch of her home - her love often showed up in these spaces. Sunday dinners 'at Granny's house' became a staple that her grandchildren grew up with, where family came together to enjoy each other's company, eat, play board games and sometimes take naps. Christine made a lasting impact on her family and friends by the way she shared her love, her generosity, her humor and her wit.
She is predeceased by her husband James Harold Pritchard, son James Larry Pritchard, and great-grandson Jeffrey William Bistline.
Christine is survived by her 3 children: Jenny Martin (spouse Ray), Cathy Bridgman (partner Dave Lair), Michael Pritchard (partner Shannon Clinton); her dog, Chester the Cat; her grandchildren: James Bridgman, Kelly (partner Doug Bell), Amy Stewart (spouse Adam DiCarlo); and great-grandchildren: Ashley Abelino( partner Richard) of Fort Worth Tx, Aaron Bridgman of Hudson Ohio, Mallory Bridgman of North Royalton Ohio, Kevin Bridgman of Macedonia Ohio, Jenna Bridgman of Hudson Ohio, Etienna Wheeler of Charleston SC, Kayla Bistline of Goose Creek SC, Draven Bistline of Goose Creek SC, Tosh Stewart-DiCarlo of Mt.
