Claude “Frankie” Meadows of Johns Island was born on November 14, 1948 to the late Claude Meadows and Ida Elizabeth “Libby” Jacques Meadows. He went to be with his beloved parents on March 25 2019. He graduated from Saint Andrews High School, Baptist College with a Bachelor's as well as the University of Life. He was a local businessman many years in the Charleston area most recently at Frankie’s Tire Center. After retiring in 2014, he took on the job of a food critic. He is preceded in death by his wife Cynthia Douglas Meadows. He is survived by one son Joseph Meadows (Kristy) of West Ashley, one sister sent by God; Joann Hlavac (Jimmy) of James Island, his love and companion Karen Channels, Summerville. He is also survived by two very special cousins Brenda Betterton and Braddie Newell (Beverly) and brother-in-law Stan Douglas (Denise) Lyman. He is survived by other cousins, nieces & nephews and was a brother from another mother for too many to name. Frankie was a fun loving, big hearted guy who loved deeply. He also disliked deeply if you ever got on his wrong side which thankfully not too many people did. The most notable was Kevin Harvick. He loved a cold beer, a good meal, a great sporting event (ok any sporting event) a fun time, the losers Carolina Gamecocks, losers Atlanta Falcons and Karen Channels not necessarily in that order. He was loved by many, feared by most. He is happily in heaven waiting on the next race, concert, basketball, football, hockey, baseball game or cheer competition to start because he now has the best seat in the house. In keeping with my bubba’s personality this will be very non traditional. We are asking that anyone that comes to either event to wear a band, sports team or race T-Shirt. People wearing Clemson gear will be allowed to stay. Visitation will be at Carolina Funeral Home 7113 Rivers Ave North Charleston, SC 29406 on Friday March 29th 2019 from 5-7 where you can tell the family lies and stories about Frankie. His big Frankie send off will be held at the same place on Saturday March 30th at 1:00 PM. We will be leaving time on the program for people to share stories/thoughts about Frankie because he loves hearing how much everyone loves him and always likes hearing the funny tales of his adventures! He will be laid to rest after the service at Carolina Memorial Gardens 7113 Rivers Ave North Charleston, SC 29406 next to his momma and daddy. In lieu of flowers please consider contributing money to any of the following causes close to Frankie’s big heart: Water’s Edge Great Dane Rescue ([email protected]), Pet Helpers (pethelpers.org/donate) or the Shriners Children Hospital (www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/shc/donate).
