Relatives and friends of Curley “Red” Lacheney are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 17th, 2025, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. Burial will follow in Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Born on July 16, 1943, Curley lived a life marked by devotion — to his family, to his country, and to the values he held dear.
Curley proudly served in the United States Navy for 31 years, a career that shaped him, strengthened him, and became one of the defining honors of his life. Even after his retirement, his love for the military remained steady and visible in the way he spoke, lived, and supported those still serving.
He was a man who worked hard and loved deeply. He faithfully cared for and cherished his wife of 58 years, Sharon L. Lacheney, who preceded him in death on September 23, 2024. Their enduring marriage was a true example of commitment and partnership, and Curley carried her memory tenderly in his final years.
Curley was a devoted father to his three sons, Brett Lacheney, Craig Lacheney, and Nathan Lacheney. He took great joy in his grandchildren — Ariel Lacheney, Jacob Lacheney, and Braden Lacheney — and delighted in the blessing of his great-grandchildren, Jak Lacheney and Amaya Ramon. Curley is also survived by his loving siblings, Cathy Lacheney and Rod Lacheney.
Above all, Curley loved his family. His dedication, work ethic, and unwavering loyalty created a foundation of stability and strength for those he loved. His presence was steady, his commitment sure, and his legacy will continue through the generations he supported and encouraged.
