A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Danny was born in Elkland, PA, to Dan and Grace Close on January 7, 1937.
He attended Bishop England High School. He married Ruby Hellen Warnack on January 18, 1957, in Moncks Corner, SC.
He retired from the United States Postal Service as a Postmaster.
Danny enjoyed NASCAR and sports, but he especially loved Clemson Football.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Grace Close, and his brother, George Close.
Danny is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruby Hellen Close; his son, Vince (Amanda) Close; his daughter, Tracy (Ernie) Worsham; sisters, Delores John and Grace Close; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of additional family and friends to cherish his memory.
