David was born on June 30, 1965, in Charleston, South Carolina to Charles Frederick Frick and Evelyn Anderson Frick. Sadly, David’s mother passed away when he was a baby, not yet 2 years old. The Lord would see fit to bring a second mother into his life a few years later when Charles married Deborah Cooper.
David was a 1983 graduate of Goose Creek High School. He was one of many children, and he had a daughter, Kalie Frick, of Ladson, SC. Until recent months, when David realized he could no longer care for him adequately, his beloved sidekick and companion was his beagle, Mr. Jingles…affectionately known to David as Bubba. David did not know a stranger and could strike a deal with just about anyone. It was often said of him that he could “sell ice to an Eskimo”.
David's life was a journey marked by both meaningful moments and personal struggles. Like many, he faced challenges that were not always visible or easily understood by those around him. His path was not always an easy one, but his life was filled with moments, relationships, and memories that will remain with those who knew him.
One of David’s most memorable qualities was his sense of humor. Whether through a quick-witted remark or an unexpected observation, he could lighten the mood and bring a smile to someone’s face. Those moments of laughter will remain among the fond memories of those who knew him.
He was a man of many complexities, with strengths and struggles that were both part of his story. Although life did not always unfold as he or those who loved him might have hoped, he remained someone whose life touched others in ways both simple and significant.
As his family reflects on his life, they do so with compassion, remembering the good moments and the laughter, acknowledging the difficult ones, and recognizing that every person's story is more than any one chapter.
May he now find the peace that so often eluded him in life and may those he leaves behind find comfort and healing in the days ahead.
He will be remembered with grace, understanding, and the hope of lasting peace.
