Deborah Buse

Relatives and friends of Deborah Buse are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:30 AM, Friday, October 17, 2025, at the graveside, Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406.

Deborah was born in Pensacola, Florida, on March 4, 1966. She was the daughter of Frederick and Janet Massey.

She loved to read, cook, write (especially journaling), create jewelry and most of all spending time with her dogs, especially Sadie. Debbie received a teaching degree from the College of Charleston and a master’s degree in special education from Arizona State. She started her teaching career at James B. Elementary School in Mt. Pleasant and taught in Findlay, Ohio until 2009 before returning to Charleston. Debbie taught in Charleston until retiring in 2011 to care for her oldest son, Tom, and pursue her interest in writing. As a special education teacher, Deb took on the challenge of working with children that have a unique way of seeing the world and a desire to be part of it.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Gary; her son, Christopher Beachler (Savanah); her parents, Frederick and Janet Massey; her niece, Lauren Shipley and her nephew, Ryan Shipley. She was predeceased by her sister, Audra Shipley as well as her oldest son, Thomas Beachler.
