Deborah Elizabeth Johnson

Relatives and friends of Deborah Johnson are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Wednesday.

Deborah was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on April 9, 1951. She was the daughter of Wylie and Delores Powell Hatchell.

First & foremost, family was everything to her. She was the absolute very best Momma & Nanny (as her grands called her). Her sense of humor and wit was one of the greatest things about her and we all enjoyed it so much. She loved watching her game shows, A&E, all football and baseball & girls softball games on tv although the Braves was her favorite! She looked forward to her great grandson Grayson’s travel baseball tournaments too!!! She enjoyed going out to eat with her family and spending time with us all. If you knew her, you loved her! She never met a stranger and was always kind to everyone!!

Deborah is survived by her daughters, Vickie McKeever (Paul ) and Heather McAbee (Chad); her grandchildren, Jessica Ferrell (Ricky) , Justin Johnson, Paul McKeever (Kim) and Madison Beaudrot; her great grandchildren, Grayson Longello and Harper Ferrell; her sisters, Judy Hatchell, Sharon Sease, Diane Reynolds( Buddy) and Helen Geist (Fred); sister in law, Debbie Hatchell; beloved family friend , Pat Riley as well as lots of nieces and nephews that she loved too! She was predeceased by her husband, James “Pete” Johnson; her parents, Wylie and Delores Hatchell; her brother, Danny Hatchell and her sisters, Mickey Mueller and Donna Widener.
