Deborah Krajick was born on January 11, 1951 to the late Eleanor Churchman and Richard Ziminski in Fort Knox, Kentucky. She is survived by her husband John Krajick, her children Angela Sargent (Michael Sargent, husband) and Joseph Krajick (Sandra Krajick, wife). Also survived by grandchildren David (Jamie, wife) and Douglas Sargent; Kaleb, Sierra, and Elijah Lee; Lucas and Lily-Ann Krajick; and great grand-daughter Jordyn Grace Sargent (due December 16, 2020 !), her sister Barbara Jones (David Jones, husband), brother John Ziminski and many nieces and nephews, and dedicated friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Emily Churchman, her uncle William Henry Churchman III, and her mother Eleanor Ziminski.
Deborah Krajick grew up on a farm in Boston, Kentucky. After graduating high school she attended Saint Joseph Infirmary School of Nursing in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated in 1971. She moved to Maryland in 1974. In 1986, while working at Prince Georges Hospital, she met her future husband John. On August 12, 1988 she married John and took on the role of being a mother to John’s 2 children. In 2016 Deborah won the Healthcare Heroes award for her dedication to cancer research. Deborah worked for 46 years as an RN, finishing her career as an ONC certified oncology nurse, up to her retirement in 2017.
Deborah enjoyed skiing, sewing, needlepoint, Disneyworld (!), and taking care of her fur babies. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmami. She was the ultimate giver to everyone she knew and was devoted to her Christian faith and her Lord. She will be sorely missed by all the lives and people she touched through her lifetime.
A visitation/viewing will be held on November 29, 2020 1:00 until 3:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremation located at 7113 Rivers Ave. N Charleston SC. A celebration of life will be held on November 30, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Please be sensitive to COVID safety requirements and wear masks when appropriate.
