Doris had an insatiable thirst for adventure, and her love for traveling took her to countless places. Her adventurous spirit inspired all who knew her to embrace the unknown.
A true animal lover, Doris had a special place in her heart for cats. Her dedication to rescuing and caring for them brought comfort and happiness to many feline companions. Her compassion extended not only to animals but also to those around her, while Doris cared for patients while working at St. Francis Hospital.
One of Doris's greatest passions was dancing. Whether it was a lively social gathering or BBQ with friends and family, she would often sway to the rhythm of her favorite tunes and invite others to join in the celebration of life.
Doris was a beacon of positivity, and her infectious smile could light up even the darkest of days. Her laughter was like music to the ears of those who were fortunate enough to share in her company.
She leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her son Vincent “Bubba” Sweat. She is survived by daughters Ann McGowan (Mylo) and Brenda Sweat, sisters Shirley Rhea and Barbara Shoop, grandchildren Travis Gilstrap (Suzanna), Tyler Gilstrap (Lynn), Ken Hood (Elaine) and Cheryl Morera, along with many great and great- great grandchildren.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Doris, let us remember her with smiles, laughter, and gratitude for the beautiful moments we shared with her. May she rest in eternal peace.
