Echiko is survived by her son Mikel Hartis and his partner Kari Wiltrout; her grandchildren Amanda Leigh Tiscia, Monica Colleen Hartis, and Kyle Mikel Hartis; and her great grandchildren Jordan Edward Pohorence, Gracie Reid Pohorence, and Lillian Rose Hartis.
Echiko is preceded in death by her husband Reid Hartis.
Echiko worked for the Berkeley County School system for over 20 years. In her free time, she loved to wake up early and go shopping at yard sales. She will be dearly missed and forever loved by her family.
