Eleanor Gleaton Smith, 86, widow of George A. Smith, of North Charleston died on June 22, 2014 at Ashley River Plantation. She was born on July 25, 1927 to Henry O’Dell and Ola Fulmer Gleaton in Springfield, SC. Eleanor enjoyed playing basketball in high school. As an adult, she loved bowling, traveling, and shopping. She will be missed by her loving family. She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Isaac (Joe); one grandson, Anthony Isaac (Natasha), many beloved nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Shirley Gleaton. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents; her son, Bradford Smith; four sisters, Merdrue Barr, Mary Clark, Henry Williams and Emily Mahaffey; one brother, Paul Gleaton; two grandchildren, Joseph Isaac and Kristy Rae Smith. The family would like to thank the staff at Ashley River Plantation for their loving and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Joseph T.
