

Ellerbe Richard (Dick) Trapp was born July 13, 1924 to Walter and Almeade Trapp in Camden, SC. along with sisters Juanita Kirkland, Betty Russell, both deceased and Thelma Huggins of Camden, SC. We celebrate his life and rejoice that he is now in a perfect body in eternal peace with our Lord and reunited with his wife of 68 years, Julialee Trapp (deceased, 7/12/2013). His gain is our loss and we grieve with and pray for the survivors, including: His three sons and their wives; Rick and Becky Trapp of Little Mountain, SC, Bob and Donna Trapp of Andrews, SC and Bill and Cathy Trapp of Kingsport, TN; six grandchildren: Drew Trapp, Philip Trapp, Leslie Trapp Jowers and husband Austin, Bethany Trapp, David Trapp and wife Alaina, Sarah Trapp Gould and husband, Ben and five great-grandchildren; JD Marotz, Addie and Ellie Jowers, Landon Trapp and Ollie Gould. Dick was a long time member of Highland Park Baptist Church, Hanahan, SC where he worked diligently with other men of the church to keep the facilities repaired and functioning (particularly the HVAC systems). He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Navy having joined at 17 years old. He served in WWII in the Alluetian Islands. After his military service, Dick worked another full career as a radar technician for the FAA maintaining the radar site at Jedburg, SC. He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed fishing and especially fixing whatever was broken; TV’s, cars, air conditioners, etc. – a much loved, jack of all trades. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 28 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC followed immediately by a memorial service.
