She lived a long, varied life. Evelyn spent the majority of her years in Charleston, SC including time as part of the Red Hat Ladies of historic Charleston. She worked as a bookkeeper in the timber business in Georgia where she also learned to be a race car driver. She ran a bed and breakfast in Charleston, was a nursing assistant in the tri-county area, and kept up the challenge as the vigilant coffee caretaker for security at Canterbury House in downtown Charleston.
Evelyn is also preceded in death by her son Jim, but she is survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. As the family has already been told by many, she will be greatly missed.
Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Gardens following a small graveside service per her request. The service will be at 3:30pm on April 28th, 2020.
