Having honorably served in the Coast Guard for 13 years, Fred displayed an unwavering commitment to duty and excellence. His post-military career as a HVAC technician, culminating in a pivotal role as a HVAC manager at the Citadel, was marked by the same level of respect and integrity.
Fred’s life was a testament to the love and strength of family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Connie S. Lewis, and a cherished father to his children, James C. Lewis, Andrea R. Lewis, and Bret Warren Lewis. His legacy of warmth and care continues through his nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick W. Lewis Sr., and his mother, Alice W. Lewis. Their guiding influence was evident in the way Fred lived his life with honor and compassion.
A faithful attendee of Cokesbury Methodist, Fred’s commitment to his faith was quietly profound and deeply felt by those who worshipped alongside him.
In keeping with Fred’s wishes, there will be no formal services, but rather a Celebration of Life at his home in North Charleston on 03/23/2024 3:00 PM. His family kindly suggests that those wishing to honor Fred’s memory may make a charitable contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association, a cause that Fred held close to his heart.
Fred’s presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. His family takes solace in the knowledge that his was a life well-lived, filled with service, love, and devotion.
