Gary C Allison

2025. Gary was born in Portsmouth, VA and raised in Pickerington, OH.

Gary dedicated 17 formidable years of his life to serving his county as a

Navy Gunner’s mate. After his tenure in the Navy closed, he found a new

home and family at Detyens Shipyard, where he spent over two decades.

His commitment to the shipyard ran deep, as he considered his colleagues

there to be like a second family to him. Gary was not only devoted to his work, but he was

also a passionate sport's enthusiast. His favorite team, without a doubt, was "The” Ohio

State Buckeyes. His fervor for the team was unmatched, and he never missed an

opportunity to support and cheer them on.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Carmelita Allison, 2 children Ronald

Bryant of Columbia SC and Heather Allison Collins of Rock Hill SC, Brother Greg Allison of

Thornville OH. He is predeceased by parents William and Harriet Allison and sister Susan

Midei.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7118 Rivers Ave. North Charleston at 10 am with a Celebration of Life Service starting at 11 am. in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will follow in the Carolina Memorial Park with Military Honors.
