Very funny, laid back, cool person. He made my friend smile. I met him once but his presence was one that you would always remember. He will be missed. 

I am so sorry to find we have lost "The Gene."
He was my friend in Panama City as our families were stationed there on the Navy base. He would shimmy up TALL Pine trees with bare hands and feet and encourage me to follow likewise. NOPE! I was always doing or getting into something as I tried keeping up with my friend, who was always living at 100 mph.

To the family, 
 I am so sorry for your lost.  My condolences and prayers are with the you. May God continue to comfort you in the coming days.  Gene will truly be missed by the Heritage Trust family.

Gene was always entertaining with many stories to tell and kept me laughing.  I will miss seeing him and things will definitely never be the same there.  My thoughts are with you.

To my sweet Uncle Gene,
I only have a few memories of you from when I was little, but you were always such a funny and goofy uncle. You had such a caring heart. I remember when I was 18 and went into heritage trust and the lady helping me saw my last name and asked if I knew you, so she called you and you came walking up and I ran and gave you a big hug. I’m beyond blessed that I was able to spend time with you in the hospital and to let you know that I love you and to hear you say you loved me back meant the world to me. I wish more then anything that you were still here but just know that you are missed by many and so unconditionally loved by many as well. You left a mark on so many people’s hearts and you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again Uncle Gene ♥️ I love you so much.

To my Uncle Gene. As we grow older, we often end up growing apart. Life gets in the way and we lose track of time. Though in hindsight, that's just an excuse. We were family and I was never around enough. It's not until we are faced with tragedy in our lives that we face regret. Regret for not talking or not being around enough. That's not what this is about though. This is about remembrance and embracing how a loved one affected our lives. I remember sitting at the dining room table at Granny's. I remember you teaching Brandon and I art and drawing techniques. Going over how to shade, draw proportionately, and be consistent. That was when my love for art happened. Through that you inspired me to begin. You inspired my passion for it through your own. Though we grew apart, nobody inspired me like you did. It wasn't something I thought about until now. To my cousins Crystal, Felicia, and Brandon. We don't communicate like we used to as kids. I remember how we all used to play and get into trouble at Granny's. To my Aunt Melissa, you've always been so kind and helped whenever you could. I remember the Christmas' at Granny's and all of us sitting together. Opening gifts, laughing and of course enjoying all that food. I love you all and offer my condolences in your time of grief and pain. Finally, to my Uncle Gene. I will cherish and remember the memories. All of the good times we shared.
