George Nollon Calliham III

February 18, 1950April 25, 2021

George Nollon Calliham, III, 71, passed away peacefully April 25, 2021, with family by his side, after a very brief stay at a local hospice facility. His passing was due to rapidly declining health after a successful surgery for a fractured hip due to a fall. Prior to his passing he had resided comfortably & contentedly since 2016 at a local assisted living facility, enjoying visits & outings with Sherry twice a week.

Nollon was born in Charleston, the son of Edith Etheredge Calliham and George N. Calliham, Jr. He was a 1968 graduate of St. Andrews High School and graduated from Baptist College in 1973, with a degree in Business Administration. After working in the insurance field he turned to his love of outdoors, offering landscaping services.

Nollon was passionate about music, a passion shared with his parents and brother. He was well known around Charleston in his younger days as an extremely talented drummer.

Nollon was predeceased by his mother and father, and his brother, Robert Lewis “Bobby” Calliham. He is survived by his niece, Michelle Calliham Smith, his nephew, Robert L. “Robbie” Calliham, Jr. and his cousin, Sherry Whittle Christian (Wayne).

Great memories from high school of Nollon and his brother Bobby. They were both such good guys and fun to be around. Very sad that they are both gone but the memories of them will serve as blessings to the family and to all of us who knew them.
