The Hughes family remorsefully announces the passing of George Raymond Hughes of Goose Creek SC.
He entered eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 20, 2015 at the Hospice Center of Charleston.
He was born in Augusta, GA to the late Annie Bell Taylor and the late Holden Quitman Hughes on November 3, 1937.
George retired from the U.S. Navy in 1974. He also retired from Cummings Diesel Engine Company. He attended Trident Technical College where he earned his Associate Degree.
He leaves behind his loving memories to his wife of 55 years, Patricia Ann Hughes, his children, George R. Hughes II (Rene’ Hughes), Kimberley A. Hughes Johnson (Robert W. Johnson), Carol Lynn Hughes Padgett (Jamie Padgett), 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7 2015 at 11:00 AM in All Saints Chapel, on the Naval Weapons Station, Redbank Road, Goose Creek.
