
Mrs. Helen E. Slack of Daniel Isle SC passed away peacefully at home Feb.18th at the age of 103. Born April 30, 1922, she had a full long life with many friends and was a devoted woman of faith. She was born in Buffalo NY and received a teaching degree there. She lived in South Hill Virginia many years with her husband Lenny and traveled extensively. They relocated to Mt. Pleasant SC after retirement and she was a faithful member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian church. She was very involved in church activities and an avid circle member. Helen is survived by many friends and admirers for her longevity and generosity. She was predeceased by her parents Humberto Sr. and Josephine DeRosa, husband Lenny, her brother Humberto Jr. (Ann), favorite niece Dr. Mary Catherine Hanrahan (Paul) nieces and nephews and cousins. She was also a 'bonus' Mom to her dear friends of many years Candy and Billy Veno of Hanahan, SC. Helen's love for her dogs was well known. She donated to many charities and particularly the ASPCA as she was devotedly fond of her Westie (Kiltie) dogs. Her kindness to others, faith and generosity is her legacy. Carolina Memorial Park is handling the private burial.
