He was born on August 31, 1943 in Largo, Florida, to the late James Walter and Lucy Wilson Foote.
He was raised in Greenwood, SC and graduated High School there, he then went on to serve in the US Air Force from July 1962 to July 1966, after his military service, Dennis was employed at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, working as a Management Analyst (Production Controller) then retiring in 1994. He then went on to serve in the Air Force Reserve from April 1969 to May 1990, retiring as Senior Master Sergeant. Dennis then was employed at Trident Medical Center until 2003 then to the North Charleston Coliseum until this year.
Dennis coached T-ball, baseball and basketball in the Hanahan Recreation Department for many years.
He was a loving husband, father and a grandfather. Dennis was a member of Crowfield Baptist Church, and had previously served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Kay, of Goose Creek, a daughter, Tara (Martin) Parker, a grandson, Jesse, a granddaughter, Maggie and loving family, Jerry Hudson, Gail Nobles, Edward Hudson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Shannon Coy Foote.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm prior to the service.
