

JAMES RONALD GREENE A bright light went out in the world Tuesday, May 31, 2016 with the death of Ron Greene. He peacefully went into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ after a long illness. Born on March 29, 1945 in Knoxville, TN to John and Gladys Greene, spending most of his childhood and teenage years in Blackville, SC. This ‘one in a million man’ loved life, his family, golf, and music. An alumni of Austin Peay University and University of Tennessee, he loved Tennessee football! Ron served his country as a Captain in the United States Air Force from 1968 until 1972. He was the first Public Works Director for the City of North Charleston, SC, was Director of Public Works for Tullahoma, TN and retired from Gatlinburg, TN as Assistant City Manager. He was awarded the 1994 Public Works Leader of the Year award. Ron and his son, James, owned and operated a sports card shop with a 3 million card inventory. He never met a stranger, was always happy and greeted everyone with a great big smile! He saw the very best in people and was a tremendous encourager to all. Ron leaves to cherish his memories, his loving family. His wife, Annette Kirby Greene, his son and daughter in love, James and Jennifer Greene. His daughter and son in love, Kirby and James Evans. His grandchildren, David, Jacob, Benjamin, Gracie and Walker. His brothers, Johnny (Phyllis) Greene, Tommy Greene, Loving sisters, Anna Fabian, Kaye Greene Smith(Don) and Sharon Wise (Robbie). All his nieces and nephews he loved so much. His best friend, Ron Clouse. His special Gatlinburg friends, Jan and Teresa Lindbert, Gary and Laura Cole, Chuck and Rosemary Laney and Mike May. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 1 pm. At Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends the evening prior on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 6-8 pm. At Carolina Memorial. In lieu of flowers, please do not vote for Hillary or Bernie. Go Trump!
