James Randall Lewis

A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

He was the son of James Henry and Myrtle Irene Lewis, who have preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah “Debbie” Emery Lewis; his son, Aaron Christopher Lewis; a sister, Linda Kay Hubble (Jim); and brother, John Gregory “Greg” Lewis.

He worked in construction for many years. He worked in the Hanahan Recreation and Parks Department, Building and Code Department as an Inspector, and continued to the Hanahan Fire Department for 10 years. While with the fire department, he served as a firefighter, fire inspector, and fire marshal.

Randy had a variety of interests, which included playing the guitar, wood carving, model cars, drag racing, go-karts, boxing (He even received the Golden Glove), flea markets, walking along the Battery in Charleston, SC, RC cars, and working outdoors. Even with all his interests, his strongest passion was firefighting. He dearly loved his job in the Hanahan Fire Department, where he served from 1983 to 1993.

He will be missed by family and friends alike.
