James Lloyd Ramsey

James “Jim” Lloyd Ramsey, 78, of Summerville entered into eternal rest on January 27, 2015. Jim was born on August 19, 1936 to Henry and Fannie Ramsey in Pitt County, NC. He served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. He worked for the C&P Telephone Company in Virginia after he retired from the Air Force. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. After working all his life, he spent his later years enjoying time with his family. He is survived by three sons, Mark (Robin), David (Lisa) and Jim (Vicky) Ramsey; four granddaughters, Ashley, Molly, Bethanie, and Elizabeth; one grandson, John, and one sister, Faye Cooke (Elwood). He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Ramsey, and one son, Kevin Ramsey. The funeral service will take place on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Jim’s memory to the Alzheimer's Association, National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave, FL.17, Chicago, IL 60601.
