Janell Chapman

Services will be at 2pm on Sunday, November 1st, 2026, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens 7113 Rivers Ave. North Charleston, SC 29406. Arrangements are by Carolina Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens.

Janell was born in Berea, OH to Thelma & Orlie Davis, on January 23, 1950. She grew up in Columbia Station, OH and graduated from Columbia Station High School and Elyria Academy Beauty School. She married Robert “Terry” Chapman on December 3rd, 1969, in Strongsville, OH. She worked as a hairdresser and then as an office administrator and retired from McNaughton McKay Electric Company in 2020.

Janell possessed sharp wit and was always ready for a practical joke and a laugh. She knew no strangers and would make conversation with anyone who came into her orbit. She had a fierce love for her children and granddaughter and made everyone around her feel instantly at ease in her presence. Her generosity of spirit and genuine gift for making everyone feel special will be missed by all who knew her.

Janell is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Arnold Davis, and her cherished pet Golden Retrievers Maggie & Ellie May. Janell is survived by her husband Robert “Terry”, her son Robert “Jason” (Nanette), her daughter Kimberly Clark (Brian), Her brother Orlie Davis, her beloved grand-daughter Harper, her honorary ‘son’ Brian Richards, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
