Jay is survived by his loving partner wife Sara Gardner; his father Earl Pike; 3 sisters Terry, Sharon, and Lori; 2 brothers Clay and Cliff, his stepson Richard Gardner (Joyelle); his grandchildren Aubrey and Joshua; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jay is preceded in death by his mother Beryl Harlow Pike.
Jay grew up as a military child, but lived most of his life in Charleston, South Carolina. He was a man of many passions and hobbies, a few of those being bowling, playing softball, and golfing. He was the most passionate about bowling and bowled in leagues for over 40 years. In his free time Jay liked to work in the yard doing things like cutting the grass, raking the leaves, and hanging up Christmas lights. Jay was loved deeply by his family and friends and will be missed dearly by those who knew him.
A Visitation will be held for Jay at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406 on November 5, 2023, at 12:00pm with a Graveside Service to follow at 1:00pm at Carolina Memorial Park.
