Mrs. Seel was born in Asheville, North Carolina to Benjamin and Nancy Brown on September 08, 1927.
Her childhood dream was to become a teacher and after marrying James G. Seel, Sr. in 1943 she did just that. Mrs. Seel graduated from The Baptist College and became a specialist teacher. Most of her teaching career was spent leading the children at Ferndale Baptist Church School. She was also very involved in the operations as well as the success of Ferndale Baptist Church. Mrs. Seel also loved teaching Sunday school and she was very grateful to have had the opportunity to share God’s word with her Sunday School Class. She was thankful as well to travel the world. Some of her favorite places to visit included, Germany, Italy, Greece and Jerusalem. Most of these vacations were with her daughter, Nancy Dennis or her close knit Ferndale Baptist Church Family. Her very last trip included seeing her 13th great-grandchild for the first time.
Mrs. Seel is survived by her daughter, Nancy Seel Dennis (James) of North Charleston, SC, her son James. G. Seel, Jr, (Lilly), of St. Mary’s, Georgia, her grandchildren, Kim Dennis of North Charleston, SC, Kelly Dennis Martin (Glenn) of Charleston, SC, Kerri Dennis Shorter, (Daryl) of Hanahan, SC and Kristen Dennis Surface (Steve) also of Hanahan, SC, David Seel (Kathryn) of St. Mary’s, GA and Rebecca Seel of Athens, GA. She is survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, her life-long friend Mrs. Ruth Procter, a host of other family and friends and her beloved doggie Tootie.
She is predeceased in death by her husband, James G. Seel Sr, Father, Benjamin Brown, Mother, Nancy Brown, and her son-in-law James Dennis.
Mrs. Seel’s Family will hold a private ceremony at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406 and she will be laid to rest next to her husband of almost 70 years, James G. Seel Sr.
