A visitation will be held at Carolina Funeral Home, located at 7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29406, on January 24, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Jody was born in Charleston, SC on June 17, 1961, to John David Sweat Jr and Gloria Jean Denson. Jody called the Lowcountry her home for her entire life.
Jody is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Jameson; parents, John David Sweat Jr and Gloria Jean Denson; brother, John David Sweat III; and sister, Cynthia Proveaux
Jody is survived by her sisters, Jayme (Mark) Pilon and Ashleigh Sweat; brother, Donald (Mary) Sweat; nephews, David (Sarah) Robinson, TJ McCutcheon, and Aaron Sweat; nieces, Amber McWilliams, Brittney Davis, and Ciara Sweat; and a host of additional family members and friends to cherish her memory.
