Visitation will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, at Carolina Funeral Home and Gardens (Carolina Memorial Park), 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, at Carolina Funeral Home and Gardens with Jay Glasgow of Roper Hospice Care officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Funeral Home and Gardens. Arrangements are by Carolina Funeral Home and Gardens.

Jack was born in Charleston, SC, to John and Alleine Garves on April 1st, 1936. He went to school at North Charleston, SC. He was married to Katherine Ann Mullen in Berkeley County, SC, on July 28, 1955, and later to Annie Eloise Graham in Goose Creek, SC, on October 29, 1988. He worked for the Charleston Naval Shipyard for 37 years and retired as a Planner and Estimator / Production Controller.

He served in the Air Force from April 2nd, 1953, to April 1st, 1957. He enjoyed his interests in carpentry and genealogy and had an insatiable thirst for knowledge.

Jack is preceded in death by Katherine Ann Mullen.

Jack is survived by Annie Garves; Eddie and Barbara Garves, Cookie and Cliff Williams, and David and Angela Garves, Michael and Gail Felder, Deborah Moore; Maryellen Truelove, Kathryn Turenne, Joe and Donna Garves; Christina and Bryan Dykes, Crystal and Garrett McCormack, Nancy and Mike Shaw, Shane and Alex Garves, Andy and Hailey Garves, Brandon and Jennifer Felder, Sarah and Brad DeBord, Drew Moore, Wesley and Aimee Moore; Jacob Dykes, Parker Dykes, Hailey Helton, Sallie Mae Limehouse, Nora Limehouse, Tyler McCormack, Maxwell Shaw, Julia Shaw, Isaiah Felder, Brynlee Felder, Maddox DeBord, Jude DeBord, Boone DeBord, Rosalyn Moore.

Pallbearers will be Shane Garves, Alex Garves, Andy Garves, Mike Shaw, Bryan Dykes, and Rick Nelson.

Memorials may be given to Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary.
