Mr. John Miller Sr. was born on February 7, 1935, and died January 1, 2023. He attended Charleston County Schools, he was also a member of St. Mark Baptist Church the Late Rev. George Fields, he was also a member of Greater St. Luke Church of Charleston, SC. He was a Mason and served our country in the United States Army. John retired from the Charleston Police Department.
John was married to Thelma Miller for over 60 years. From that Union came 6 children Marry Simmons, Sylvia Wine (Michael), Shirley Simmons (James), June Mitchell, John Miller Jr. (who proceeded in him in death), and Eric Miller (Vera); 13 grandchildren; and 14 plus great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by brothers Clarence (Mary), Marshall (Olive), Joseph (Peggy), twin brother James (Janette), and william; as well as a sister Rosetta Johnson (Lindsay); a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and family.
