John Allen Priest

John Allen Priest Sr., 80 of Goose Creek, SC passed away, Tuesday, February 21, 2023. He was born on April 18, 1942 in Sneads Grove, North Carolina to Peter John Priest and Hattie Orelia (Ransom) Priest.

He served in the United States Navy from 1963-1983, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him.

He will be joining his wife of 42 years, Brenda Sue (Nunnery) Priest, son John A. Priest Jr., daughter-in-law Kelly Keane Priest, sister Catherine (Kat), and brothers William, Charlie, Clayton, and Elvin.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura Faye Priest of Long Beach, Calif.; son Christopher Priest Sr. and wife, Tammy of Goose Creek. Brothers James of Yeehaw Junction, FL. Henry and wife Peggy of Maxton, NC. Melvin and wife Anne of Laurinburg, NC.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Kiri, Chuck, Chris, Chelsea, Chase Allen, Sandra, Rachale, Ashley, Christopher Jr. and ten great-grandchildren Nicholae, Lilly, Harrison, River, Braydon, Leevi Allen, Ellie, Hazel, Emerson, and Ryleigh.

A visitation will be held at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston, SC from 1-3 on Sunday, February 26th. A funeral will be held the following day at Sneads Grove United Methodist Church in Laurel Hill, NC at 11 AM. He will be laid to rest in Judson Baptist Church cemetery on Cedar Creek Road in Fayetteville.
