Jack was born in Maryville TN on July 17, 1933, the second son of Ben and Jeannette Moore Sloane. He also spent a year at Bonneville Power and Light in Portland OR developing systems for automating hydroelectric dams. After his retirement from ALCOA, he joined Kaiser Aluminum as a Vice President in Pittsburgh PA, followed by a tenure as President for Reynolds Europe in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Jack was an Eagle Scout and spoke fondly of his Scouting adventures.
