Mr. Johnny Mac Muse

Johnny (John) M. Muse peacefully passed away at his home in Hanahan, South Carolina on November 1, 2014 after a long hard fought battle with cancer. John leaves behind his wife, Marsha Teasley Muse, their son Jacob H. Muse and grandson Dalton Thomas Muse of Charleston, SC. John was the son of the late James H. Muse, Sr. and Bernice A. Roy (Maurice). In addition to his father, John was predeceased by his sister Sandra Jean Richard and step mother Virginia D Muse. John leaves behind his mother of St Augustine, FL, brothers James H. Muse of Summerville, SC, Jerry A. Muse (Harriet) of Ravenel, SC, sister Carol A. Groover (Ronald) of Locust Grove, GA, brother in law Marvin D. Richard III of Lincolnton, GA and sister in law Linda T. Hilton of Hollywood, SC. John is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. John, attended Charleston area schools, served his country in the United States Navy where he earned the Navy Expeditionary Medal during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the National Defense Service Medal. After being discharged from the Navy, John later worked as a civilian with the U S Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic where he earned the Antarctica Service Medal, and numerous citations for exemplary work and performance, retiring with over 30 years of combined federal service. John was a member of the Goose Creek Masonic Lodge #401. Words are inadequate to express the loss felt by John’s absence. He was a very caring individual who loved his family, the Carolina Gamecocks, Atlanta Braves, PGA Golf, and ACC Basketball. Friends and family are invited to gather on Wednesday, November 5th at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home at 7113 Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. Visitation with the family will be held from 12 noon until 1:30pm with funeral services following immediately afterward. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
