Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Carolina Funeral Home & Gardens with Pastor Fernando Ramos of International Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Funeral Home & Gardens. Arrangements are by Carolina Funeral Home & Gardens.
Joseph was born in North Charleston, South Carolina to Patricia Blackwelder Fimiani on November 11, 1976. He went to school at Goose Creek High School. He married Melissa Mamaril Ramos on August 26, 2013 in Goose Creek. He is a University of South Carolina Alum. He worked as a Production Manager, Tooling and Fixture Specialist and a Maintenance Mechanic at Boeing for 17 plus years. He was part of the Longeron Recovery Team, He received certificates as a Quality Cup Winner, a First Line Leadership Award, and he received a Certificate of Recognition with his team that was called the Fantastic Supa-Fly Shakers for advancing to a Stage 3 Employee Involvement Team.
Joseph was a veteran of the United States Airforce. Airman First Class Joseph B. Ramos was awarded The Airforce Achievement Medal for Outstanding Achievement from August 6,1997 to December 18,1997. He was an Installation Entry Controller/Gatekeeper assigned to the 4409th Security Forces Squadron, 4409th Air Base Group (Provisional), Eskan Village, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in support of Operation DESERT STORM/SOUTHERN WATCH. He was also a Federal Aviation Administration Certified UAS Remote Pilot, business owner and event videographer for Palmetto Drone Operations, LLC. He also donated his time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and various beach and coastal beautification projects in Charleston, South Carolina.
Joseph Blackwelder Ramos is preceded in death by his brother Jerry B. Ramos, Grandfather Harold Blackwelder and his Grandmother Georgia Geraldine Blackwelder.
Joseph Blackwelder Ramos is survived by his daughter Emilia Victoria Ramos, former partner Melissa Mamaril Ramos, his brother Jesse Fimiani, his sister Jordan Fimiani, his mother Patty Fimiani, his father Philip Fimiani.
Pallbearers will be Brett Bounds, David Fischbach, Marvin Mamaril, John LaBerge, Jeremy Varn, Josh Cassel, Nathan Dudley, David Hickman , Dwayne Stukes and Rodney Norman.
The family of Joseph Blackwelder Ramos wishes to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Yanis Bellil, as well as his entire medical care team and hospice nurse, John. They also would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to friends and co-workers for the immense outpouring of support, kindness and love.
