Born on August 27, 1936, in Manton, Michigan, Joyce was the beloved daughter of the late Dan Forest McCain and Goldie Mae Huston McCain. She spent her formative years in Spencerville, Ohio, where she graduated from high school. A woman of strong faith, Joyce was a dedicated member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Whitesville, SC.
Joyce is lovingly remembered by her children: David Allen Brown, Mark Douglas Eutsler, and Darlene Mae Eutsler; her four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many cherished friends who remained close to her throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Brown, and her parents.
Joyce had a true zest for life. She was an exceptional cook who brought family and friends together through her meals. She found great joy in exploring the world, traveling extensively and especially enjoying cruises. Above all, she treasured her family deeply and created a legacy of love, warmth, and laughter.
A private visitation for immediate family will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406, with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 PM at Carolina Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Joyce’s memory to a local animal shelter, such as: Berkeley Animal Center, https://animalcenter.berkeleycountysc.gov/donation/
or a charity of your choice—reflecting her compassionate spirit and love for all living beings.
