I am Kay’s neighbor but didn’t realize we were neighbors until I met her in the gift shop at Genesis East. I too am a volunteer in the gift shop and met her there. As we were talking we realized we lived on the same street and then we realized we were just a couple of condos away. We became friends and spoke often. I will truly miss her- a very kind and gentle soul.

I am so sorry that we have lost our dear Kay. I was a labor & delivery RN with Kay where she served as my preceptor while I was completing my BSN in addition to when I returned to Davenport (post-BSN) to land a job at the (then) St. Luke's Hospital. Kay was kind, funny, warm, & was always there for her friends & those Moms & babies that she served for many years. Although I now live in the Chicago suburbs, I visited Kay in 8/2019 & I stayed overnight with her where we shared many laughs, talked about the "good old days" & of course all things Cubs baseball, too! I will always & forever hear her call me "Fraker" (versus my first name which she never used.....!!) & I will miss her dearly. My prayers & love to Kay's family during this difficult time.

Dear Lisa, Rhonda, Jenny, Todd and family,

Please know how saddened about the loss of your dear Momma. She was such a force in so many people's lives and continued doing so well after her retirement. Kay definitely left a mark and a legacy in so many ways, which certainly includes her great children.

I have so many fond memories spending time at your house growing up with you all. The best Sunday's after church would be securing a golden invitation to join you for dinner for your Mom's amazing beer battered chicken...I can still taste it!

I will very much miss Kay's sassy personality and sense of humor and I know her beloved Jim has missed her all these years. Knowing they are reunited brings such comfort as they were such a neat couple.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all, dear ones.

Love Tammy

Our condolences to The Family.
It was a pleasure getting to know Kay, she was one of a kind. She had a big heart, always made us feel welcome and knew how to have fun.
She made so much great food, especially her homemade hot fudge. So sorry to hear of her passing, she will be missed always. RIP sweet Kay

Our sympathy, thoughts and prayers for all of Kay's family and friends. The Hobbs were great neighbors for over a decade. I'll always have fond memories of Kay and Jim. Kay's great personality was a great companion for Jim. It was always great fun when they were around. One memory that stands out is watching with Kay and most of the rest of the neighborhood as Jim would spend a good while backing his RV into the drive way. I'm sure they're both happy to be reunited.

I don’t know where to begin...I have so many amazing memories with Kay. Starting with her and Jim attending Rods and my wedding, and Jim being the most amazing DJ, to her awesome recipes, to her being a mentor to my daughter as she embarked on her nursing career. Kay was always there for us. The year that my mother in law died, 2017, Alex graduated from ASU College of Nursing. Kay was Shirley’s best friend. Since grandma couldn’t be there for Alex, Kay stepped up and flew out to Phoenix to be there for her. Kay was the best bonus grandma ever! We love Kay and all the wonderful memories we have with her. We will cherish them forever. We are so happy she has been reunited with Jim, Shirley, Bix and her favorite little girl Abby. We hope you are happy and can’t wait to see you again. Love you.

I worked with Kay in L&D she was a wonderful teacher to me learning in the OR she was patient funny and kind. She would lift you up and inspire you to do the best you could no matter what title you held. Weather you worked in housekeeping a OB Tech or Nurse she spoke kindly to you and treated you with respect. The world needs a whole lot more Kay Hobbs and it would be a great place. Rest In Peace Kay. To her family I so sorry for your loss. She loved to talk about her family. God just received a beautiful Angel. 💝

Kay recruited me to be an elf at her church’s holiday bazaar for neighborhood children. She was such a loving and giving person who made people around her feel special. I will miss my dear friend Kay. God has an angel. Rest in heaven. Love you Paula
