Visitation will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Cordesville First Baptist Church, 1913 South Carolina Highway 402, Moncks Corner, South Carolina 29461.
Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, with the Rev. Jim LeGendre of Cordesville First Baptist Church officiating.
The burial will take place immediately afterward at the Cordesville First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Kelley was born in Cordesville, S.C., to Jasper Leland Cumbee, Sr. and Lillian Wyndham Cumbee on March 23, 1939. He went to school at Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner, SC. He worked for SCEG until he retired after 20+ yrs
He was an avid antique collector and thoroughly enjoyed listening to bluegrass music. Some Saturday nights, Kelley could be found at Guy and Tina Faulks Pickin’ Parlor in Bethera, listening to live bluegrass. He also loved talking about playing football in high school for the Berkeley Stags.
Kelley also loved spending time with family; whether it was going to the Smoky Mountains or on cruises, he loved his family. His memories and stories will never be forgotten. He will never be forgotten.
Kelley is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Terry M. Cumbee; brothers, J.L. Cumbee Jr., Melvin Cumbee Sr., and Rev. Calvin Cumbee; and sisters, Garnetta Cumbee, Germaine Simmons, and Mildred Thames.
Kelley is survived by his son, Michael Cumbee Sr. of Moncks Corner; sisters, Catherine Denny of Mt. Pleasant and Maxine Nobles of Moncks Corner; grandchildren, Michael Cumbee Jr. of Summerville, Brandon Dawson of Mt. Pleasant, and Megan Dawson of Mt. Pleasant. Kelley also is survived by many nieces and nephews. Kelley had special neighbors in Reid and Connie Lamonthe who were like family.
