Leonard Merritt, age 96, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away May 21st, 2024, surrounded by family
Leonard Merritt was born on March 22, 1928, to the late Dokie Scott and Samuel Merritt, in Quitman, Georgia.
He is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Merritt.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ella Merritt.
Leonard Merritt served in the United States Army Infantry, in occupied Germany, and went on to see combat in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from the Army, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant.
A visitation will be held on May 25th, 2024 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, at Carolina Memorial Gardens at 7113 Rivers Avenue in North Charleston, South Carolina.
