Linda K Maynard

Tuesday October 3rd, 2023, at her residence under the care of hospice.

She is survived by her children Kelly Jones Gillette, Lorrie Jones Turner, and Shawn (Anna) Jones. Siblings Frankie Compton Lysaght and Major V. Compton. Grandchildren Joshua “Ryan” Jones, Lauren (Cameron) Balding, Jessica Easterling-Jones and Taylor (Ashley) Turner. A Legacy of 12 —and growing great grandchildren—with another due later this month. Multiple nieces and nephews.

Linda was born September 15,1938 in Anderson, South Carolina, to Frank S. and Annie Julia Compton. Linda grew up in Charleston, SC, married and raised 3 beautiful children. Linda loved working with her hands and was a cosmetologist for 40 years. She retired to Georgia to be closer to family and lived out her golden years in Statesboro, Georgia.

Her laugh was contagious, and her sense of humor was unmatched.

Our hearts are deeply saddened but we draw peace from knowing that Mama is in the arms of the Lord and that we will one day join her in Heaven.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Frank S. and Annie Julia Compton, her brother William “Bill” Compton, and her son-in-law Richard W. Turner.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday October 10, 2023, at Carolina Funeral Home & Garden, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, South Carolina 29406. Viewing will start at 11:30am and her celebration service at 12:30pm. Entombment to follow.
