

She was born January 2, 1933 in Bangbang, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
Marcelina is preceded in death by her husband, Victor R. Narciso.
She is survived by her daughters: Charmaine Narciso – Jiao (Conrad), Grace Narciso Hill (Christopher) of Hayward, CA, and Marcely Narciso Ackley (TJ) of Ormond Beach, FL. Also by her niece; Alanie Narciso of Hanahan, SC.
Marcelina graduated from Baguio Nursing School in the Philippines. She immigrated to the United States in the late 1950’s, where she became a registered nurse in the state of New York. She met her husband Victor in New York City and was married in 1959. She and her family moved to the Charleston, SC area in 1961, where her husband, then an electrician’s mate in the US Navy, was assigned. She was a nurse at the Charleston Naval Base Hospital, then later transferred to the Veteran’s Administration hospital in Downtown Charleston. She was a medical-surgical and hemo-dialysis nurse there.
Marcie, or “Manang Mars” as she was also known to the Charleston Filipino community, was a past President and founding member of the Charleston Filipino Nursing Association, an officer in the Charleston Filipino-American Association, and member in the Charleston Filipino Community Center and other Filipino organizations. She was an active member of Divine Redeemer Catholic Church in Hanahan. She was an enthusiastic, successful entrepreneur and small business owner, owned a gift shop in the Heart of Charleston hotel, and had a booth in the Charleston City Market for about 25 years. She and her family lived in Hanahan for over 40 years. She spent her last years at The Villages in Summerville, where she was loved on by the many wonderful staff there.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and auntie. She was always called a “sweet lady”, was known as a wonderful hostess, and was always generous to those in need. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
A Visitation will be held March 30, 2022 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm with a Rosary from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. A Mass will be held at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 1106 Fort Drive, Hanahan, SC 29410, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
