Marcelino (Mars) Ruiz Pascual NORTH CHARLESTON – Marcelino (Mars) Ruiz Pascual, 80, husband of Cecilia Pre Pascual, of North Charleston, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Roper St. Francis Hospital. Family and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Thursday, October 18, 2018 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 6650 Dorchester Road, North Charleston. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston. Visitation will the Rosary Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 6-8 pm at the Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Mars was born on April 26, 1938 in Tayug, Pangasinan, Philippines, son of the late Urbano & Alejandra Pascual. He received his high school diploma from Luna College in 1955 and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960. Mars served for twenty-three years in which he & his family traveled to several places such as South Carolina, Scotland, Mississippi, Virginia, and Florida. When it was time to retire, South Carolina was chosen to be their home. Mars also worked with the Department of Defense as a security guard after retiring from the USN. He loved to fish, but playing the lottery each day and playing bingo a few nights during the week was his most favorite. He was sure that one day he would win the big one. In addition to his loving wife of 52 years, Mars is survived by his two daughters: Marie Cecille Pascual Campbell and Grace Leah Pascual Bogtong (Richard); five grandchildren: Richard Glen Campbell, Jr., David Marcel Campbell, Madison Leah Bogtong, Michael Alexander Bogtong, and Alyssa Grace Bogtong; one granddog: Hershey Bogtong. He was predeceased by his parents, Urbano & Alejandra Pascual of Tayug, Pangasinan, Philippines, sister, Gloria Romero of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and son-in-law, Richard Glen Campbell of Summerville.
