Margaret Fraser Lindsay MacPherson, 83, of Goose Creek, SC, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025. Born in Dundee, Scotland, on November 30, 1941, the daughter of the late Thomas Lindsay and Margaret Fraser Lindsay. Margaret brought her Scottish fire, quick wit, and fierce love to everyone lucky enough to know her.
She moved from Dundee to Goose Creek as a young woman and proudly called it home for the rest of her life. Margaret retired from Yeamans Hall Country Club where she was known for her strong work ethic, no-nonsense attitude, and full-hearted care for those around her.
She was the beloved wife of the late Lewis MacPherson and the proud mother of Alexander “Alec” MacPherson (Denise), Lorna McQuillian, both of Goose Creek and Alan MacPherson (Vanessa) of Summerville. She leaves behind her grandchildren Crystal Butler (and family), Jennifer Garland, Allison MacPherson, Alex MacPherson (Alexandria), and Brooke McQuillian; and great-grandchildren Elyse McFadden, Eli McFadden, and Emerson Lucas. She was a devoted sister to Thomas Lindsay (the late Ruby) and is preceded in death by her brothers William Lindsay (the late May) and Robert B.F. Lindsay (the late Elizabeth). She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored.
Margaret was a member of Metro North Church and found deep comfort in her faith. She was bold, loving, and unapologetically herself—always ready with a sharp word, a helping hand, and endless love for her family.
The viewing will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 10am to 11am at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC. The service will be at the chapel at 11am. Burial will follow at 12:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to support dementia research and awareness—an important cause close to the family’s heart.
