
Margaret was born in Charleston, S.C. to Sarah Margaret Murphy and Laurie Franklin Hiers, Jr. on September 20, 1946. A North Charleston High School graduate, Margaret worked in the cosmetology industry for over 50 years. She owned a salon, Margie Lee’s in West Ashley, for many of those. She was a long-time member of the Charleston Shag Club, enjoyed Elks Lodge #242 events with her husband and their friends, and enjoyed traveling (especially to Cherokee. N.C.)
Margaret is survived by her daughter Kristie Turbeville, son-in-law Toby Turbeville, granddaughter Sarah Turbeville, brother Clyde Hiers, sister-in-law Jill Hiers. and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded by her husband Thomas Parsons, grandson Kyle Turbeville, parents Sarah and Laurie (Frank) Hiers, Jr., sister Barbara (Bobbie) Franklin, sister Nancy Taylor, and brother Laurie (Frankie) Hiers III.
Margaret was a hard-working, successful, fun-loving person with a big heart. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Her family would like to especially thank Roper Hospice Cottage for making Margaret’s last days comfortable and peaceful.
A memorial visitation drop-in is scheduled for Sunday, December 5, 2021 between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, South Carolina, 29406.
