Relatives and friends of Marilyn Redmond are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Highland Park Baptist Church, Hanahan. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday at the church. Flowers are accepted or memorials can be made to Highland Parks Baptist Church.
Marilyn was born in Colleton County, South Carolina, on December 9, 1940. She was the daughter of Nelie and Pearl Ackerman.
Marilyn was an active member of Highland Park Baptist church where she was involved with many programs. Some of the many activities she dedicated her time to were singing in the choir, Busy Hands, Meals on Wheels, Disaster Relief, teaching sewing and knitting classes, poll working during primary elections, caregiving for family and friends when needed and much more.
She spent her life sharing the love of the Lord with others through her kindness and warmth. She loved the Lord dearly and always considered herself to be a peace maker.
Marilyn is survived by her two sons, Marcus (Annette), Troy (Sherrie); daughter, Kristi; four grandchildren, Kyle, Cory (Jenna), Joel, Macie and one great grandchild, Jack. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Redmond; parents, Nelie and Pearl Ackerman and sister, Alice Robertson.
