Marion "Buddy" Otto Singletary

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, Buddy passed to the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by his family. He was born June 25, 1939 to Otto & Margaret Kinard Singletary. He grew up in North Charleston and attended N. Charleston High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964 and in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1964-1968. He is survived by his wife Elaine C. Singletary, his two children David M. Singletary (Malissa) and Lisa E. James (Earl). He is also survived by his three grandchildren Brandon D. Singletary (Morgan), Taylor E. Martin (Parker Collins), Dylan S. Singletary, his brother Robert H. Singletary and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Daniel L. Singletary. Buddy retired from Detyen’s Shipyard in 2012. He loved to hunt and fish, but most of all he loved his family and friends. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 6pm- 8pm and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11am with interment at 12pm at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.
