

Relatives and friends of Marlene are invited to attend her funeral service at 12 Noon on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. Entombment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made in her memory to the Dementia Society of America, Dementiasociety.org or PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA, 18901.
Marlene was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on August 30, 1930. She was the daughter of Charles and Rose Shoe.
Fred and Marlene were former members of First Baptist Church of Goose Creek and were co-founding members of Crowfield Baptist Church. While primarily a homemaker, she excelled in providing custom cakes for all occasions.
She is survived by her sons, Kenny Satterfield (April) of Williamston and Steve Satterfield of Moncks Corner; her daughter, Cindy Williams (Bryan) of Summerville; her grandchildren, Jeremy Satterfield (Amber), Kim Dickson (Jason), Kevin Satterfield, and Brittney Williams; great grandchildren, Matthew and Madelyn Satterfield, Ansley Satterfield, Jacks, Jameson and Caroline Dickson; sister, Linda Bright (Fred), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rose Shoe; Fred, her loving husband of 54 years; sisters, Doris Coker, Peggy Clack and Kay Packman; brothers, Charles and Don Shoe; daughter-in-Law, Debra Satterfield; grandson, Greg Satterfield (Melissa) and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of the memory care unit at Wildcat Senior Living and Elizabeth from Bristol Hospice for taking care of her for the last few weeks of her life.
