Mary L Crowley

Mary was born July 13, 1928 in the Lebanon Community of Berkeley County, daughter of John Gordon and Edith Blanton Smith. Mary is survived by her daughter, Brenda Crowley Rush, two grandchildren, Jennifer Rush Peterson (Yuri) and Mary Beth Rush Bostick (Robby), and one precious great-granddaughter, Wren Iris Peterson; many nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Rae Crowley Biggs (Archie). In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, her sister, Corine Smith Yurinko, and brother John Floyd Smith.

Mary was a longtime member of North Charleston United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Elizabeth Vickery Circle, and the Huguenot Society of South Carolina. She was a dedicated volunteer with Respite Care of Charleston, serving at her church in Park Circle, in West Ashley and James Island.

Mary will always be remembered for her love of children, having been a caregiver for many little ones over the years, all of whom she loved as her own. She will also be remembered for her kindness and her unwavering faith in the Lord.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2:00PM at North Charleston United Methodist Church located at 1125 East Montague Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405.
