Mary T Jacobson

Mary Theresa (Lee) Jacobson, 84, of Goose Creek, passed away peacefully from Alzheimer's, Thursday May 18. Mary, a native of Mission Hill in Boston, MA married her husband of 65 years, David A Jacobson, in 1957. They had their first child, a daughter, in ‘58 followed by 3 sons in ‘59, ‘63, & ‘65. The “Jakes” moved to Medway, MA. She was a devoted wife and mom and had her hands full attending baseball, hockey, football, field hockey, softball and basketball games to enthusiastically cheer on her brood. She also chaperoned countless school trips and stayed involved in her kids’ education. Mary re-entered the work force, first at Medway Animal Hospital. She later earned her college degree and became the HR manager for Harvard Apparatus in Natick, MA. Mary and Jake retired to SC to be near their children and grandkids.

In addition to her loving husband, David, whose own longevity he ascribes wholeheartedly to Mary’s unceasing and unconditional love, she is survived by daughter, Donna Butler, a teacher in Hanahan (David); son David E. of North Georgia, retired from Delta Airlines (Alicia); son Kenneth “Jake” of Summerville, a mailman on James Island (Linda); son Steven, of Goose Creek, permanently disabled at home; Grandkids Brittany, Brooke, Brielle, Alexander, Shane and 4 great grandchildren. She also leaves 2 brothers, William Lee of NY and Edward Lee of MA and their families.

Family meant everything to Mary. Accordingly, she and Jake took all the kids and grands on an Alaskan cruise in celebration of their 50th anniversary.

All friends and family are invited to attend an informal gathering in her honor at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406, on June 3rd, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:00pm. A Celebration of Life will follow from 12:00pm to 1:00pm in the Chapel.
